New DT for Me (...as well as C.R.A.F.T....!)!

Got back from our Scottish holiday (...more about that later...) to a lovely surprise!
I've been invited to join the DT of Crafty Cardmakers! How nice is that?

Don't know a huge amount about them and as they're changing their format, it really doesn't matter that much but I do know there is a bunch of very nice but totally whacky women over there and I like whacky very much! LOL! Apparently they also have a 'resident loon', Judie, whom I was warned about from the outset and wasn't put off by! On the contrary, any panel admitting to a 'resident Loon' in the ranks is a must!

Haven't got any instructions yet but am in continuous contact with Vixykins so should know soon!

Now I just have to find my mojo....it was here somewhere...I'm sure I packed it up in Scotland.... oh, I do hope I've not left it up there....not in my art bag...suitcase is empty....handbag? No.....
.... where's that cool bag? Yeah, it has to be in the cool-bag, doesn't it..........

C.R.A.F.T 56 - Black, Lime Green and Lilac

I must apoplogize for the lateness of this post - I did schedule it for Thursday but that clearly didn't work....again! Not impressed with Mr Blogger at all!

We do love our recipes and colour challenges on C.R.A.F.T ! And this week it's a colour-challenge Black, Lime Green and Lilac.

We have requested peeps get as close to LIME and LILAC as you can - I know I'm a slave-driver, but what's the point of a challenge if we don't make it at least a little challenging.....!
LOL!

I've used a paper from American Crafts (the lime and black patterned paper) and a paper of my own (the striped one) and I need no excuse to use my lickle bird & cage die from Tim Holtz for the black silhouette. That's a Tim clock-face too! Five of Tim's lickle pins finish off.
Hope you like it!
Hugs,
Ei

C.R.A.F.T 55 - Sketch

This week over on C.R.A.F.T, they've let me loose with my sketchpad again...! LOL!

It's another of my sketches and I'm chuffed to bits that our sponsor is the uber-talented HopeJacare - that's her Dragonfly House on my card!

I always enjoy our challenges but I particularly enjoyed this one as I love coming up with sketches for our followers to try and i got to use one of my favourite images!
Excellent!

My Ada in our garden

As promised, here's the 'positive' image to the silhouette of Ada in a previous post. I've made it up in sunny yellows, for the Trimcraft Colour Challenge and with the Gingersnaps Challenge in mind, I've attached a DCWV quote which I feel covers the mood of my card. However, I was too darn late - their challenge closed yesterday.......(sigh). Never mind, I enjoyed making it anyway! LOL!

It's a middle-opening 21cm squ white card with a facing of a K&Co yellow paper.
The image mat is a yellow nestie, laid on a flowered white card from a pad from stash which is in turn matted onto a sunny-yellow Bazzil Bling.
The flowers are a mix of Prima and Poundland and the whole is finished off with Lemon Ice Stickles and a lovely yellow satin ribbon.

I've kept is fairly simple, the better to show off my Copics-coloured image which is my drawing of my baby granddaughter Ada from the week before last ( ...when we had Summer...!) and the quote is from DCWV.
Oh, and the inner (which you can just see peeking over the top edge) is edged with Martha Stewart deep border punch.

I hope you all like it!

C.R.A.F.T 54 - Father's Day/Mens Cards

Well folks, most of us have got 'em, some of us have lost 'em, and some of us just wish we had!
But on the whole,
most of us love 'em! That'll be our Dads then, won't it?

So we are having a 'Father's Day' challenge (...quelle surprise...) for you to express your feelings for that man who gave you life - or vent your speen, whichever takes your fancy!

Me? I really liked my Dad. I loved him, but, I actually LIKED the little guy too! And the two don't always go hand in hand, as with any other family member...!

Although I loved and liked my lickle Dad he's, sadly, no longer here for me to give a card to so I've made one for my Hubby Nic's Dad instead. It's not my usual style of card because I've tailored it to suit the man who's in his eighties and likes tigers!

Materials and method

One 21cm square textured white card
One length of blue organza ribbon
Two photos of Bengal Tiger, one with a dark blue border and greeting
Four photocorners

What you see is what you get....! LOL!

As well as being my demo card this week, I've also entered this for the lovely Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge as they too have a Father's Day theme!

Simples!

I got first of top three.....!

...the Phindy's Place Challenge! I came first of the chosen top three with Nic's Anniversary card featuring Phindy's lovely Hamsters! Yayyyy...!

I much prefer a top three placement to the random top picks as they are chosen by the DT which, with an amazing DT like Phindy's, means such a lot!

Thank you Phindy's Team!

Another Allsorts entry......!

Told you I liked that theme! LOL! Well, here's another Allsorts entry in Black White & Purple. I confess to having had 'help' with this one though I'm not sure Ada's input would actually come under the description of 'help'!

'Me do Nanny,' whilst she grabs the inkpad and wipes it all over my white base card....
Then there was the positioning of the image mat. Boy! Once that DST on those foam squares 'grabs' it's there for keeps!

Still, I think she's doing alright for two!

The image stamp is a La Blanche foam one and the inkpad was Tim holtz 'Dusty Concord' helped along with Copics BV08. The rest from stash.

My Ada in Silhouette!

This is my entry to Crafty Creations' challenge of Black, White and a splash of Red! It's a silhouette of my Ada drawn from a photograph I took yesterday in the garden. It's been made also to the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday who are two years old this week!

Happy Blogaversary Sketch Saturday!

I didn't realize until I went on to enter my card and there are all sorts of celebrations and candy on the team's blogs! Go have a peep!

Ada is a total delight! There she was yesterday, naked as the day she was born except for her hat, shoes .....and handbag! LOL!

She was parading round the garden checking on the plants and wildlife before she took her 'baby' for a walk in it's stroller. Then she went to the beach (...her sand-pit and paddling pool...) taking great care to take her 'baby' indoors before she did so 'so she won't get too hot Nanny' and giving it a bottle of water 'so she won't be thirsty while I'm away.' !

I'll be posting the original drawing on here soon but just liked the silhouette for this challenge.

C.R.A.F.T 53 - Newsprint

On C.R.A.F.T we have a delightful recipe for you this week!
This week we would like you to create something using a significant amount of newsprint!

I think this is very exciting and opens up loads of possibilities of distressing and altering and papier-mache-ing!

I've chosen to use music score - for no other reason than I like it! It has a lovely soft vintage quality to it and I like the symbolism and imagery of the treble-clef, bass-clef and notes.

I suppose the fact I am a musician has a bearing too although I can't read music! It never made sense to me! I can score read and I can give a fair approximation of a tune from music but I can't make what the dots say into what I do with my hands - I have a music-related short-circuit somewhere!

Anyway, here it is and I hope you enjoy it and the challenge!

Allsorts 54 - Black & White + One Other Colour.

Allsorts have a lovely challenge this week. It's black & white and 'one other colour' - so I've chosen ....... purple!
No surprise there then! LOL!

Actually , I did have a hard time deciding - I kept wanting to do red but red is always the accompaniment to black & white and then shocking pink..... (...oh yeah? And purple is sooo much better.....? Duhhh!)....oh well, never mind! I've done it now! I might to another in a totally un-black & white colour. It's got me juices going now....!

Anyway, I kept it very simple deliberately because I wanted to use my new Tim Holtz bird die!
No designer stuff on there other than that - the rest is just from stash with a couple of Wild Orchid flowers and a spot of Stickles!

I've been home from work now for nearly three months - and it has been wonderful...! I've drawn, painted, had an amazing time with ...
