Mojo Monday 105 - Allsorts 20

I hope I'm not too late for the Mojo Monday Challenge - I've had a few probs getting htis image onto my blog, not least the fact that my baby granddaughter was up most of the evening and night! I don't mind kiddie's programmes but 5.15 am is a bit much! LOL!
The Allsorts theme this week is Autumn Days and I think this fits with that too!
Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!
I'll come back and edit this post a bit later - just want to get it on quickly just now!

A CCC, PB SAS Triple Challenge!

For this week's project, I've managed to combine three challenges.
Copics Colour Challenge 32 requires the colours Lavender (V06) Pthalic Blue (B23) and Coral Sea (BG23). Ironically, the only pen of this combination I own is Coral Sea and that's the only one I didn't use, relying instead on a background paper for that shade. Fot the other colours I combined different shades of Copics to create the correct shade.
The next Challenge is the Penny Black Challenge 67 which requires a PB stamp plus lace & pearls. I love PB stamps so take any opportunity to use my collection!

The third challenge is the Sketch & Stash 19 which provides the fab sketch which I really enjoyed creating.

These are three of my favourite blogs along with Allsorts and I hope you like what I've put together!
Thanks for looking!

C.R.A.F.T Challenge 18 - 'No backing papers'

This is my DT card for this week's challenge at C.R.A.F.T. This week's theme is 'No backing papers' so I've not used any.I've mounted cream hammered card onto gold mirri card after trimming it with scalloped scissors, leaving a nice mirrored border (even though it doesn't show in the photo) then stamped with gold ink onto the cream card.

The image is made by making a piece of 'distressed' cardstock to please the eye and then stamping on it in black dye ink. The stamp is a La Blanche image.
This is then mounted on a slightly darker cream and then onto more gold mirri and finally with 3D foam squares onto the stamped, hammered cream card.
The flowers are a layered mix of Prima and cheap Wilkinson's silk flowers

Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!

Allsorts Challenge 19 - Snowflakes in September

It's Allsorts time again! LOL! This week's Allsorts Challenge (19) is entitled Snowflakes in September so I've tried to create a September sky with my inkpads and cut & dry and used a 'resist' technique in layers in between colours finishing off with Staz-On Opaque White for the last layer of snowflakes.

I've finished off with some lovely glitter paper and a large white snowflake, which is actually pearlescent and mounted on 3D foam but it hasn't photographed very well.
Another fab project theme from Allsorts!

Bev's Birthday

It's our beautiful daughter Bev's birthday next week and she prefers plainish things with minimum fuss, so I have to radically change my usual mindset to make her cards...! LOL!For this one, I've made a not quite DL size card (she's not fussed on large cards either...) using the white with green flowers cardstock for the front but trimming it with my scalloped scissors so it leaves a little of the card beneath showing. This, I have edged with a Lettuce inkpad (Adirondack) so it shows under the scallops.

I stamped a small square of white card with the two small stamps (bird & birdhouse) using the Lettuce inkpad again and mounted it on black card then edged the black card with a black inkpad so no white shows round the edge.

I cut a square of green Bazzil and corner-punched it before topping with a small square of patterned vellum. Using sticky-dots, I adhered this to the card.

The stamped, mounted image was then ahered onto the vellum with a couple of 3D foam squares.

Using a green fineliner, I then hand wrote 'Happy Birthday' around the green square.

To finish off the front I then tied a green ribbon around the spine and used a glue-pen to adhere some glitter dust to the bow.

I scanned the flowered card into my pc and reversed the colourway so pale flowers were on a green background and printed this on paper for the inner. which i also scalloped. My message was printed onto white paper and cut down with my scalloped scissors and adhered to the inside.

Fall? No, just hangin'...

Sketch Saturday Challenge 68 is this fab sketch. I've stamped a Stamps Happen image and coloured it with Copics and as Copics Colour Challenge 31 are using Orange, Greyish Olive and Honey I've used similar Copics (amongst some others) to colour the image.
I've used an Autumn theme as suggested by the Copics and this suits
A spoonful of Sugar Challenge 69, which is entitled 'Fall into Autumn'.

It's my usual 21cm square card and I've used a pocket full of posies paper and the tartan is from Paper Pizzaz 'Four Seasons' finished off with some leaf punchies and five little orangey gems.
Thank yo for looking and I hope you like it!

Brag Book

I made this Brag Book last year when my baby granddaughter Ada was born. As a new grandma, it is mandatory that I bore rigid, anyone who sits still long enough with tales of this wonder of the modern world - my grandbaby!

I've only put a few pages on because I don't want to be TOO much of a bore, but just to give you an idea, it's along the lines of 'Once Upon a Time there was a beautiful Princess and a handsome Prince...' and includes photos of family members with the baby and Ada's scans too.

The lickle plain notebook was a freebie so I just inked and stamped it and wrapped a ribbon round it to keep its bulging pages closed so the box lid fits!

I took photo's of her lickle feet and hands and made mini-portraits of them and I actually inked up her hand and foot and took inky prints (don't tell her Mum...! LOL!) which I've mounted and framed.
I made a matching box for it with the same ribbon wrapped around it.

I hope you like it and it gives you some ideas for any expected lickle ones!

C.R.F.T. Challenge 17 - Pink & Brown

This week's challenge 17 at C.R.A.F.T is for a pink & brown colour pallette, so I thought 'Apart from flowers, what's normally pink....?' LOL!

Mo's Digital Pencil, once again, provide the image. I'm completely besotted with Mo's images - they're cute and humorous without being cartoonish or twee in any way. Love 'em!

As per usual, the colouring is with Copics - I really am becoming a bit obsessed with these markers - I'm learning all the time what they will do and it fascinates me!

Nothing of note on this offering - all anonymous stash except for the 'leaves' which is actually the 'pine branch' punch from Martha Stewart.

I hope you like it - thank you for looking !

Sketch Saturday DT Call Demo

This is my entry for the Sketch Satruday DT call.

The image is a Mo Manning Digistamp from 'Mo's Digital Pencil'which I have coloured with Copic marker pens.
The sketch is, clearly, the sketch Sketch Saturday have set as the demo and the papers I have used are mainly DCWV 'Pocket full of Posies' with a couple of K&Co scraps thrown in for good measure!
The scalloped edge is my Martha Stewart 'Doily Lace' border punch.

Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!

For the Man in my Life...Allsorts 17

Another Mo's Digital Pencil image, this time for Allsorts Challenge 17

The brief is to make a card for 'the man in your life'.
Well, Nic's been manacled to me for over 36 years now (not counting 'courting') so I thought this image suited us perfectly!
It's not our anniversary again until next year now but, y'know, I think I'll just write him a lickle poem and give it to him anyway, just to show I am going to keep him after all.....

My usual 21cm square (...boring person aren't I...?) card in white then faced with a lovely printed and foiled cardstock 1cm smaller all round so to leave a white border.
This I trimmed with a couple of different laces and braids.
The image, as I said, is a digistamp from Mo called 'Jack & Ginger' which I have coloured with copics in neutral colours (...the 'greige' of the ubiquiteous pensioner...!) except for her hat and the flowers he's brought her which are bright red!
I've mounted this with 3D foam squares on a DCWV Luxury Mat and used a corner punch.
This whole I've also mounted onto the card with 3D foam squares.
The flowers (just punchies) and leaves (MS & Leonie M punches) I've adhered with Pinflair Glue Gel.
The message is my own Eiglas stamp and is also mounted on DCWV Luxury Mat.
BTW, the message is finished off inside....but you'll have to guess how! LOL!
Thanks for looking - I hope you like it!

....sumfink's rong...

I fell in love with this digistamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.
I bought it (...and another two...!) immediately and here it is!
What a beautifully executed little drawing! Even the shape of his big toe is acccurate - just lovely!

I deliberately kept the treatment simple & plain (...unusually for me some might say...!LOL!) as I didn't want to detract from the fab image. I SO enjoyed colouring this!
Not for any challenge - just for my pleasure this was created!
Do go to Mo's - her stuff is just wonderful!
Hope you like it!

C.R.A.F.T Challenge 16 - DT card

This is my DT card for this week's challenge 16 on C.R.A.F.T!

I decided to make a Christmas card for my baby granddaughter Ada with a removeable clear, acrylic star which can go on the Christmas tree until New Year and thereafter hang in her window or on her door, which is why I haven't overdone the Christmas theme on the star.

Why I always pick such difficult to photograph projects I really have no clue - I guess I just like a challenge! LOL! Glitter card and clear plastic! Hah!
The photo is awful (I'll try to get a better one tomorrow) - the glitter card is actually pink, (though you'd never know it), the front card with the glitter dots is white and the elements are from K&Co 'Swell Noel'.

My base card is my usual 21 cm square fronted with the pink glitter card. The white glitter spot card was trimmed approx 1cm smaller all round and I used the acrylic star as a template and drew around it centred on the back of the spotty card but cut about 3mm bigger allround, so the star would fit nicely.
The star is a Clear Scrap from a set I bought last year but would be very easy to make yourself with a heavy acetate. All I did with this was trim the edge with a white glitter trim and add Ada's name in the centre with a white puffy velvet alphabet. At least I don't need many letters!
The finishing touch was simply a selection of the 'Swell Noel' Grand Adhesions and a white glittery thread from which to hang the star.
Hope you like it!
Thanks for looking.

Black, white, Red & Yellow - Pink Elephant Challenge 31

This is my entry for the Pink Elephant Challenge 31.

This required us to use only black, white, red & yellow which I thought was a fun combination well suited to this Art Nouveau image.
I also used a little gold pen and hope this is okay!

Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!

Spoonful of One Stop!

For this week's One Stop 45 challenge (a sketch) and Spoonful of Sugar's 'Distress' Challenge 67 I created this birthday card for my friend's birthday. The sketch isn't square this week so it's not my usual 21cm square, it's 21cm x 18cm and the base card is a hammered cream cardstock (approx 260gsm). The next layer up us a lighter, natural cardstock which I deckle-edged and distressed with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Adirondak Mushroom.
The two pieces of braid I think are upholstery braids and the white lacy edging is my Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch.
The rectangle and square mats are from DCWV Luxury Mat Stack .
The wordstamp is a Funstamp and I can't remember the make of the collage stamp but it's one of those magnetic ones - I've had it so long, I can't ever remember where I got it from but I think it may have been Cherrytree Crafts in Derbyshire.
Flowers are Prima and Sizzix and the leaves Martha Stewart and the glitz on the flowers is a mix of distress Stickles and Glitter Dust.

Hope you like it!

Nana's Summer Flowers - Allsorts Challenge 16

Sorry I've not done much this week but I've had the baby all last week then from Thursday, I had her nights as well until yesterday afternoon, at which point I was too knackered to speak let alone craft!

Thankfully, today I was left to myself by EVERYONE! That is a very rare event indeed, so I tidied my craft-room whilst watching craft programmes all day and even managed this layout! Bliss!

On Trimcraft I run a monthly Scrapbook Sketch Challenge and this month I've actually got mine done first! LOL! The title was 'Summer Flowers' so I decided to use these photos of our lickle Ada and, as we've had no summer to speak of, the brightest, summeriest stash in my collection to make up for it.

As it has no stamping on it (as with my other last two projects) I thought I'd enter it for the Allsorts Challenge 16. I love the Allsorts Challenges - they're always fun! If you haven't already popped over there, go take a look - it's a great blog with lots of inspiration.

It's a 12 x 12 and the base card is DCWV linen weave textured cardstock from a pad. The Hibiscus patterned paper is K&Co from the mega pad and the white lacy edging is Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch.
Flowers and ribbon from stash.
The baby is from my daughter Beverley! Thanks very much Bev...!
I may take another photo tomorrow as this one doesn't really do it justice.

Hope you like it!
Thanks for looking!
